Posted by wtfichigo - 07/05/09 at 08:05:03 pmIn the last week I’ve been to copenhagen, malmö and lund. I started out in copenhagen and had I blast with my coach there. He’s an awesome guy and we had a ton of fun. The consequences of this blast were that I was completely hungover for the next two days….. Afterwards I visited two friends of mine who are studying in Lund right now. It was a ton of fun to see them again and hang out with them.
Tomorrow I am going to the capt. Innsbruck and I will try my luck there…. Let’s ship it!! 
Besides that life is good and I am looking forward to have a lot of fun there !
Hand analysis, cause I miss it

Just finished a short session and played a cool hand, I wanted to talk about.
First of all lets take a look at our villain:
hes 30/25/9 and really aggressive
Preflop: He opens under the gun, I think a little bit about it and decide to flatcall with Jacks, I raise this hand here most often but this time I decided to just flat.
Flop: The flop comes down Q-high with two spades, pretty draw heavy. He Contbets (what I think he does with his whole range here), pretty standard call with JJ.
Turn: The turn brings a blank. He has a turn contbet percentage of 35, so I think he fires here sometimes with air, with every good Queen or better, and fairly often with draws…but this time he checks, i check behind for pot control.
River: River pairs the 4, he checks again and I decide to go for thin value, getting a call from a 9 or a PP like Tens, Eights and stuff…
I bet, and this is where the hand stars to get interesting, he thinks a little bit and shoves.
When I made the bet I already thought, that it looks really bluffy…all draws missed, I would not check behind a decend Queen or better on this board, so either I had a draw (most likely) or a weak made hand. The only hands that would make this play and call his bet would be random 4’s and he knows I rarely have a 4 because he raises UTG and I call UTG+1. Also I would not always call his contbet with a 4 in my hand, awaiting him to fire the turn quite frequently. So his play here I would say is risky but not bad.
On the other hand he has a sick polorized range here…
He would never check a set twice to me, hoping I bet the river, and I think with a random 4 (which he rarely has here, cause of the UTG raise) he would just fire out the river. So in his eyes my hand makes absolutely no sense, and I cant have something that calls his shove (just based on the hand strength). But he cant have a hand that fits this play. We can exclude sets here, also A good queen or two pair. Also a shove makes not much sense because my hand looks so weak here. So when he shoved I just thought for like 2 seconds “Is he able to make such a play with air” and my answer was yes, so I called pretty quick.
I think this hand illustrates pretty good the thought process in a poker hand, thats why I posted it, would also like to hear your feedback.

I was more or less carddead for the whole final table but I was able to keep myself quite ahead of nearly all the guys. Had an maniac to my left so I wasn’t able to steal as much as I wanted…
Ran as 2nd in chips for near all my chips kq with a resteal into ak so nothing I could do there. No one time plz there 
But I am happy about the result since it’s my biggest tourney win so far not shabby for a 5000 fpp buy in tourney :>
Busted the 100k gtd on boss pretty as 34rd too, where I made a stupid mistake. But the boss tourneys are about the biggest crapshot you will ever see and I made a stupid iso raise for half my stack where I could have picked a better spot……

Poker and trip to croatia

Right now im drinking red wine and listening to Ronald Jenkees (who is awesome) and decided to do a little blog post.
In the last time im playing mostly NL400 on boss media with a sick winrate over the last three months, but I have to admit that I played too few hands, last month I only played about 30k which is not enough for me, but I will try to grind more.
Enough about poker, lets get to the more interesting things in life
We were planning and finally booked our house for the ventgang trip to croatia, this year its this one
Im really looking forward to this trip, because last year it was just great fun to chill out one week with your friends and do absolutely nothing. The house is also better than last years one, having a billiard table, internet access and other stuff. Of course we will post some pictures from this years trip when its done.

I know a lot of gamers or ex cs-gamer read this, so try this out, it’s quake 3 in a flash browser, it’s really awesome. I am not really used to play q3 on a 30″ monitor yet, but I might get used to it. The FPS rate, the ping and the equipment I am playing on right now are like the dreams of my “childhood”. Since I was a complete geek back in the day since beta 5.2(we are talking cs obvs. ) I expected myself to doo pretty good at the game, but my aim isn’t rusty, it’s just plain bad Sadly that reminds me of how I was never a big talent in cs, but I put in such extreme hours that I had to become good anyway
Sadly I had to stop playing now, cause buffalo vs detroit starts in a few minutes
Tourney sunday….

I finished 13th in a 109$ 100k gtd for a little over 1k, other than this I busted in every other tourney. So I paid about 2.4k in tourney fees and won about 1k. Sounds like a major improvement to my previous sundays….
My last month was ok pokerwise and I finished up a good amount. If I run good this month and can continue where I started at the end of march, I might even be break even for this year after this month… (*hooray*!)
I am playing all the low and mid stakes SCOOP events on stars and who knows, maybe I might run good and “scoope” one ! I managed to get pretty deep in one of the 6max omaha events, but I busted on a 40/60 spot with a pretty good stack
The improvements in my tourney game are definitely there and I think I am doing a good job at managing a shorter stack. I still need a lot a experimenting with big/mid stacks and if I can keep myself away from putting my stack in too light, I might become a good tourney player in the near future.
The musical rudolf, that I watched last saturday, was pretty amazing. I can definitely recommend it to anyone who likes that stuff, altough I am not an expert in this field.
I just finished watching the latest episode of “the dollhouse” and I think it’s ok. It can’t compete with heroes or how I met your mother, but it’s definitely watchable! Currently I am finishing “Death Note”, a really good anime and after this I am again open for suggestions of new tv shows!

If you like hockey, you should get espn360. You can watch every game of the season on a livestream with good quality there. Since the quality of some other live streams that I used before dropped down significantly. I decided to give it a try and it’s really cool.
Poker is going good lately and I am on a heater for the last 5k hands. I think it was about time.
This saturday a friend of mine, his gf, my gf and Iv are going to watch the musical rudolf in the raimund theatre in vienna.
