AC/DC concert
Posted by wtfichigo - 31/05/09 at 03:05:02 pmThe concert was my pretty good, altough I had to sit during the whole time and the seats were really small. My knee managed so survive this whole incident without any damage. I am happy to cross AC/DC of my list of bands, which I haven’t seen yet. There ar a few left, but the list certainly gets smaller every year.
Currently I am grinding like a mofo with mixed results, since I have a prop bet wit Volan running who is going to be Supernova at stars first. I trieda lot of things that I usually don’t do and I am also currently experimenting with the number of tables that I play.
Today is tourney sunday and as always I think I am going to ship a big one! Seriously my tourney game improved a lot since I started playing tourneys and I hope another good result is coming up in the near future!
As for the stanley cup finals, the Redwings are going to own the Penguins pretty hard. After game one of the series, you can already see the difference between these two teams. It’s going to much harder for Crosby/Malkin to produce some points against the Redwings and I think the strong Redwings defense is going to make the difference in this final.
Three days ago…
Posted by wtfichigo - 24/05/09 at 11:05:09 am… I was finally able to leave the hospital. My knee surgery went well and I am currently learning to walk again
I have to use cruches for 3 weeks now and after that I will be able to walk on my own. In three months from now, my knee should be in a shape, that allows me to start travelling again! I will post a pic of my after surgery knee in the near future, I hope nobody pukes over it :>
Today I am going to the ac/dc concert in vienna, I hope me knee won’t let me down there. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go there, because my knee is still swollen. But I wasn’t able to get rid of the tickets anyway, so It doesn’t matter and I really want to see the band!
The Nhl playoffs are finally coming to an end. There is a good chance that the redwings will make it again and this would make me pretty happy. The penguins are honestly the team that I root the most against and they are leading carolina 3:0 so they are basically through. There are still some games to come and I hope I won’t miss many of them.
The Ebel(austrian league) starts at the beginning of september and after the stanley cup final is over, there won’t be any hockey to watch for me
Pokerwise I am slowly picking up the grind again and I really don’t feel like stressing myself too much about it. I sure as hell will grind a lot in the next two months since there isn’t too much I can do besides playing quake live or ps3. Hopefully I will able to control my tiltmonster .
Finally I want to thank all my friends and family that were visiting me in the hospital!
The Capt Innsbruck…
Posted by wtfichigo - 11/05/09 at 02:05:25 pm… was a fairly short experience for me. I think I lasted about 40 minutes… You got to run pretty good to win even such a small tourney and this time it was just not going to happen. My three other mates also managed to bust on the first day, so the tourney was no success at all. Non poker wise the trip to Innsbruck was a “success” since I was able to meet some poker mates and get hammered with them(props to dominik, juergen and kitzi!).
My surgery date, after some back and forth, is finally drawing near and I got to go to the hospital tomorrow. After that I have to keep quite for at least 4 month and don’t do too much stupid stuff for 8 months . I hope everything will work out !
ooooooh la!
Posted by wtfichigo - 07/05/09 at 08:05:03 pmIn the last week I’ve been to copenhagen, malmö and lund. I started out in copenhagen and had I blast with my coach there. He’s an awesome guy and we had a ton of fun. The consequences of this blast were that I was completely hungover for the next two days….. Afterwards I visited two friends of mine who are studying in Lund right now. It was a ton of fun to see them again and hang out with them.
Tomorrow I am going to the capt. Innsbruck and I will try my luck there…. Let’s ship it!!
Besides that life is good and I am looking forward to have a lot of fun there !
Hand analysis, cause I miss it
Posted by aleKs - 02/05/09 at 10:05:18 pmHi all,
Just finished a short session and played a cool hand, I wanted to talk about.
First of all lets take a look at our villain:
hes 30/25/9 and really aggressive
Preflop: He opens under the gun, I think a little bit about it and decide to flatcall with Jacks, I raise this hand here most often but this time I decided to just flat.
Flop: The flop comes down Q-high with two spades, pretty draw heavy. He Contbets (what I think he does with his whole range here), pretty standard call with JJ.
Turn: The turn brings a blank. He has a turn contbet percentage of 35, so I think he fires here sometimes with air, with every good Queen or better, and fairly often with draws…but this time he checks, i check behind for pot control.
River: River pairs the 4, he checks again and I decide to go for thin value, getting a call from a 9 or a PP like Tens, Eights and stuff…
I bet, and this is where the hand stars to get interesting, he thinks a little bit and shoves.
When I made the bet I already thought, that it looks really bluffy…all draws missed, I would not check behind a decend Queen or better on this board, so either I had a draw (most likely) or a weak made hand. The only hands that would make this play and call his bet would be random 4’s and he knows I rarely have a 4 because he raises UTG and I call UTG+1. Also I would not always call his contbet with a 4 in my hand, awaiting him to fire the turn quite frequently. So his play here I would say is risky but not bad.
On the other hand he has a sick polorized range here…
He would never check a set twice to me, hoping I bet the river, and I think with a random 4 (which he rarely has here, cause of the UTG raise) he would just fire out the river. So in his eyes my hand makes absolutely no sense, and I cant have something that calls his shove (just based on the hand strength). But he cant have a hand that fits this play. We can exclude sets here, also A good queen or two pair. Also a shove makes not much sense because my hand looks so weak here. So when he shoved I just thought for like 2 seconds “Is he able to make such a play with air” and my answer was yes, so I called pretty quick.
I think this hand illustrates pretty good the thought process in a poker hand, thats why I posted it, would also like to hear your feedback.
Cu, Alex
